This programme is one of the Eligible Programmes under the Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme (the "Scheme"), (https://greentalent.org.hk/).ESG Workshop on Sustainability Governance and Risk Management (WSHP24060701) According to the Global Risk Report 2023 published by the World Economic Forum, sustainability-related risks are considered some of the most critical challenges faced by organizations in terms of likelihood and severity. Failing to identify and address environmental and social risks promptly can expose companies to significant reputation, operational, and financial risks. Recognizing the urgency of the matter, the ISSB has introduced the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, which require companies to assess their sustainability-related risks, describe the related impacts, and establish governance and controls mechanisms to further protect stakeholders' interests. While sustainability-related risks are becoming prominent in the corporate landscape, companies may find it challenging to incorporate them into the corporate risk management framework and effectively manage the related risks due to lack of knowledge and experience. That's why we have designed this workshop exclusively for Institute members – to help you understand the essence of sustainability-related risks and opportunities, and equip you with practical knowledge of risk governance and management processes. In this workshop, the speakers will cover: - Introduction to sustainability-related risk and opportunities, and their implications for businesses
- Sustainability governance and risk assessment processes
- Development of mitigation plan and internal controls for sustainability-related risks
- Disclosure on sustainability governance and risk management
In order to be eligible for reimbursement under the Scheme, participants must meet both of the following requirements: - Successfully pass the assessment, which includes multiple-choice questions, with a score of 70% or higher
- Achieve an attendance of 80% or higher
