The construction industry may leave an impression of being 3D (dirty, dull and dangerous) and old fashioned, yet it has been, and will continue to be, one of the most important pillars to support economic growth in Hong Kong, even during the pandemic period. It is believed that digital technology and innovation will be the key to bringing change, and to sustaining the growth of the industry. Construction 2.0, a transformational initiative driven by the HKSAR Government, highlights the importance for construction industry stakeholders to embrace technologies to enhance productivity, safety, quality, efficiency as well as sustainability in the construction process. In this webinar, the speaker from Gammon Construction will share about the latest technological applications deployed in the construction process, and the challenges and opportunities they have faced during their journey to adopt and implement technologies since 2016 to achieve their goal. Though buzzwords like Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital twin and data analytics are not new today, how these technologies are combined and integrated to produce a desired outcome suitable for the construction environment will be the key focus of the sharing.
