Description	Digitalization Series - Recognize and Avoid Scams: Protecting Yourself in a Digital World (archived session) (ESEMEF374L01) Global losses arising from online scams are estimated to have exceeded US$1 trillion annually. While each of us is more closely connected to the internet through mobile technology, we are potentially targeted by hackers and scammers hiding in any corner of the world every day. With the growing popularity of generative AI technology and deepfakes, differentiating potential scams or misinformation becomes more challenging than ever. Topics include: From psychological and cognitive perspectives, are humans intrinsically susceptible to scams? What are the latest prevalent online scams? What deepfake content can be created using a personal computer? How can one easily prevent online scams and pitfalls? Notice This course operates under a new Learning management system (LMS) that is designed to enhance your learning experience. To gain access to LMS, please register for an LMS account.
