This e-seminar explores how AI is revolutionizing forecasting models in Hong Kong’s business landscape. It introduces key machine learning techniques—like decision trees, neural networks, and time series models (ARIMA, Prophet)—and explains their roles in predictive modelling. Real-world case studies from the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Link REIT, and retail stores illustrate how AI improves accuracy, reduces costs, and enhances decision-making.

This e-seminar will also show how AI enables smarter, faster, and more adaptive forecasting across sectors such as retail, finance, and logistics—supporting Hong Kong’s Smart City ambitions. Most of the described AI algorithms should provide foundation to students to address enquires from HKMA,SFC,PCPD, Cap 653 related to the companies operation utilize A.I. technology.

Speaker will begin with a foundational overview of AI technologies – such as machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and robotics – and then examines practical applications across core accounting functions including cloud accounting, tax compliance, audits, expense and payroll management, and fraud detection. He will also highlight specific AI tools, explaining their features, compliance standards, and relevance for Hong Kong accountants.
