Description

Sustainability webinar: Why Nature Matters to Accountants - Turning Risk into Resilience (EWEB25053001)

While climate change continues to dominate sustainability discussions, nature-related issues have become increasingly critical, due to their deep inter-connections. For instance, deforestation not only reduces the planet’s capacity to absorb carbon, but also increases the risks of flooding, erosion, and drought, directly impacting businesses and communities.

Recognizing this, nature-related issues are emerging as core strategic business priorities. Initiatives like the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) highlight the growing need to integrate nature into strategic planning, reporting, and risk management. Accountants, who are already pivotal to climate-related reporting, are now uniquely positioned to help businesses address nature-related risks, seize emerging opportunities, and align with evolving global frameworks.

This webinar will introduce the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) guide "Why Nature Matters to Accountants," which provides essential knowledge and practical guidance tailored for different accounting roles.

Featuring real-world insights from Swire Properties and Towngas, the session will offer case studies on integrating nature into business decisions. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage directly with experts in a panel discussion and a live Q&A session.

Join us to discover how accountants can support nature-positive action, building resilience and long-term value.
