Under China's 14th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong enterprises encounter both challenges and opportunities in navigating the intellectual property (IP) landscape. The plan prioritizes innovation and the enhancement of IP protection, compelling businesses to adapt to evolving regulations. While risks such as IP theft, infringement and compliance issues persist, companies can benefit from increased government support and funding for research and development. By aligning their IP strategies with national goals, Hong Kong enterprises can position themselves advantageously in a competitive and innovation-driven market.

After joining this e-seminar, participants will:

• Learn about the national strategies and plans in IP such as Outline of Building a Strong Intellectual Property Country (知識產權強國建設綱要), Outline on Intellectual Property Rights in the 14th Five-Year Plan (十四五規劃中關於知識產權的綱要), the mission of Hong Kong's IP rights in the 14th Five-Year Plan and other laws and plans
• Understand IP challenges during research and development, manufacturing, sales, and IP risk control
• Understand IP opportunities in protection, valuation and tax benefits
