Sustainability Committee

   

Terms of Reference
 
1. To provide expertise and practical experience to the Institute for development of initiatives, educational and support materials and publications to raise the profile of and encourage adoption of sustainability principles and practices among Institute members and the Hong Kong business community.
   
2. Support Council approved strategic initiatives and actions to position the Institute as a leader in sustainability matters and make relevant contributions to Hong Kong’s sustainability journey.
   
3. To contribute actively to Institute projects and activities relevant to sustainability, including advising on:
 

a.

 the Institute’s sustainability plan and reporting;
 

b.

the Education and Training Department on development of appropriate sustainability content for professional qualification syllabus;
 

c.

current and developing issues that may be suitable topics for CPD and educational events and/or research and other thought leadership projects; and
 

d.

the development of sustainability standards in Hong Kong through participation in the Advisory Panels established by the Standard Setting Department.
 
4. To advise and support the Institute's representatives on both local and international sustainability bodies, such as the Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group (CASG), the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) and Accounting for Sustainability (A4S), etc., including providing views and comments on projects/initiatives as they develop.
   
5. To contribute to Institute responses and comments on local and international sustainability related consultations e.g. HKEX, ISSB etc.
